About Monica
My name is Monica and I am a Californian-turned-Parisian.
I come from a wedding-family (bear with me here).
Growing up in Southern California, both my mom and dad were wedding officiants. In high school I started attending weddings to get photos of them performing ceremonies, people started tipping me and one thing led to another—8 years later I had a ‘real’ camera, learned all about it, and had photographed more than 300 weddings.
After university, however, I got the travel bug and came to settle in Paris, France. Five years later here I am, but my love for love never changed. Now I’m back to capturing the most important day in people’s lives and loving every second of it.
Photojournalism with a big splash of romance
I’ve tried out all sorts of photography to make a living: sports, portrait, landscape, dog, photojournalism, the list goes on. But what wedding photography has that is special, is that it combines romantic couples poses, family portraits, dance floor shenanigans and stunning architecture. You get to be with people on the best day of their lives, and when they are the most beautiful they’ll ever be, and it’s an honor to participate.
I’m a 6ft blonde who can’t/won’t stop lightening my hair… You can put take the girl out of California but you can’t take the California out of the girl.
What it’s like working together
When you book with me, you are booking with someone who can set you at ease in front of a camera and who can show you the best places to capture your trip to Paris and the surrounding areas. I am bilingual in French and will help navigate and guide you through your day.
To start, we’ll get to know each other over a digital coffee, and really define what you want out of your big day. We’ll discuss the organization and logistics, but more importantly, we’ll take about your style and what is important to you as a couple.
For weddings, we’ll spend a lot of time together, sometimes I’ll be very present - for example when I am trying to get your niece Sophie to look at the camera, and othertimes you won’t even notice me because I’ll be capturing the little moments from afar.
For love stories around Paris, I’ll be your guide, showing you the best places to pose to capture the beauty of the city and helping you get comfortable in front of the lens.
My couples
They love their pets, they love the outdoors, they love beautiful architecture. They like stylishly dressing up but they don’t take themselves too seriously—They want their friends and families to have an amazing time as well.
My ideal couple is always laughing, are laidback, they are truly in love and they can’t wait to bring their family and friends together. Over a wedding, we spend a lot of time together, so it’s important that we have a good feeling about each other.
